HP had me make a recovery which ended up being useless and superfluous and then when they could think of no more options, they said, should I back up all my data and do a full system restore.
After reading through the solutions and try a few other webcam software products, my neighbor suggested I uninstall the webcam using the Device Manager screen. Once you uninstall say Yes if he asks you again if you want to uninstall the webcam material then turn off your computer. So i got youcam 5 but now when i start it, it says "Youcam has stopped working, Windows will try to find a solution". I don't know what to do. May 6, 5, 1 24, 1, Make sure the driver is installed, the driver is the software that makes it work, sometimes these fail for no reason, so go to the laptop's website, go to their driver download area, find your laptop model number and download the webcam software and driver and install it.
Make sure there's nothing blocking it, like a firewall an antivirus. System restore was a good solution as soon as you realised the problem was on, but you may still try, as long as system restore has any checkpoints left before the problem started. Uninstall the program from Control Panel. Restart, Install it again, Install driver and it should work.
Ok, I will try those. However i can't do a system restore as i would lose some work and the only restore point is to when the camera used was Youcam 3. I will reply if the solution has worked or not. Well if the trial version works than buy the full version, I think it will work also. One thing is clear for sure that it happened with some software issue not the hardware. Or, you can try any other software which is free to use e.
