We also like the fact that not many were produced and that it was technically the last XK ever. Only 45 units have been made worldwide and it was technically an XKR-S on steroids with even more aero.
Yet, the "ordinary" XKR-S already ticks all the boxes to become a future classic, and the price is quite fair. Yes, you could get a much better car for this price, but the XKR-S has this kind of exclusivity and non-sense that makes it pretty unique. Would I buy one? Oh yes, with the hope that one day it will become a true collector's car. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Perego Cars, situated in Switzerland, for giving me the opportunity to review and shoot this car.
Website: www. Not for me, thanks. I'd prefer the regular XKR, because it doesn't try to be something it isn't and therefore work better as a package. Besides, you can save yourself a buck and a half if vulgarity is left out. Less is more. I like the Jag XK but i would not buy one cause i would rather the smaller sportier much more sexy V8 Vantage. I have no idea if it will be a future classic - but it's a beautiful car.
Makes me a little jealous, so I'm moving on I'm torn between an xkrs and a cts-v coupe. Am I right in the the V rides and handles better? Not planning tracking it, but taking corners with some gusto. Will the rs try to kill me??? Hi Kevin! I heard they are great cars though. All I know is that the Jag' can be a bit brutal so unless you don't drive it with care, it might want to kill you Tim Rodie.
David Mcleod. Rachit Shad Trehan. Isaac Bareham. Rachael Hogg. To achieve better handling and even fuel consumption, Jaguar Jaguar decided to introduce a facelift for its XK8 GT range, and, along with the rest of the stable, the XKR was improved to offer more power and better smiles per mile. After more than two decades into production, the old XJS was retired in and made room for a modern GT developed together with Ford and Aston Martin.
But soon, the German brands were recovering with new GT vehicles. Designed to replace the fastest selling Jaguar sports car at the time, the XK8, the XKR was the spiced-up version of it. Inspired by the famous Jaguar E-Type, the great looking vehicle featured some visual updates compared to the XK8, such as the mesh grille at the front, two hood air vents to help cool the engine, a discrete trunk spoiler and huge inch alloy wheels. As with all large government databases, there are errors in this dataset especially since quite a lot of the data for older vehicles is based on paper records that were originally maintained by local authorities.
The most common error that crops up is vehicles that don't have exactly the correct model variant recorded on their V5 registration document. For example, a special edition Peugeot Gentry might only have Peugeot recorded on its V5. This can lead to some model variants appearing to be rarer than they actually are.
The key to understanding whether or not the data is accurate for your particular model is to check the model name on its V5 registration document. If it's not what you expect it to be, then it's likely that the DVLA statistics for that model aren't very accurate!
